  11.
  12. Winarch is distributed in parallel usually with trumpet winsock (in a zip
  13. called tools.zip, I think).
  14.
  15. An alternative which I wrote is distributed as wsarchie.zip and
  16. can currently be FTP from ftp.demon.co.uk in /pub/ibmpc/winsock/apps/wsarchie.
  17. It's still pretty basic, but I'm working on an upgrade to it which will
  18. be based on the latest prospero protocol, and eventually ftp facilities.
  19. Details to follow, probably years from now! (only kidding). The slight
  20. advantage wsarchie has is that it displays the currently selected
  21. archie host, and you can change it. Disadvantage, it sometimes picks up
  22. packets from earlier queries, (sigh).
  23.
  24. Regards
  25. David

  47. Folks:
  48.
  49. This could be -- and probably is -- a FAQ, but has anyone done a C++
  50. class encapsulating the Winsock API?  I dimly recall spotting
  51. something which looked like this on sunsite a while back, but don't
  52. see it now (if it was ever there...)
